The Tendencias Award is based on the idea that trends do not emerge instantly, but are built over time through identity and effort, much like the veins of stone that form slowly over the years. The design connects two key concepts: trace and trajectory.

Inspired by the technical marbles of Xtone – Porcelanosa, the vein is understood as compressed memory rather than decoration. An archetypal vein is extracted from these surfaces and becomes the main geometry of the award, symbolizing identity, uniqueness, and personal imprint. As no two veins are the same, no two creative paths are identical.

The process begins with brainstorming and is later adapted to the technical and material requirements of the competition. The design is developed in Grasshopper through a parametric system that controls geometry, proportions, and variations, and allows for the customization of the award with the recipients’ names.

The ascending silhouette represents the awardee’s professional journey as a progressive process. The name placed at the top reinforces the idea of achievement and consolidation. A slight inclination breaks orthogonal rigidity and adds dynamism, while a frontal opening introduces ergonomics and visual lightness.

The project is completed through 3D prototyping and documentation, communicating both the design and its process. The TENDENCIAS Award does not celebrate a single moment, but a trajectory—recognizing the unique imprint of each creator and the value of time in shaping meaningful careers.
